C# MIDI Application released

Hi
After a long time out i have released a piece of software which got created a few months ago. I have not had the time to work on it and so i have released it as it is. The piece of software is an advanced version of the MIDI app that got released a few months ago. The piece of software allows you to play, record, step through and try your luck at scoring with songs. The software will allow different instruments to be used and numerous output devices to play your song back on. The software currently supports general MIDI when changing instruments and will also allow a key lighting keyboard to be connected. This allows you to see the keys light up as you step through and play songs.
An example of a key lighting keyboard in action can be found under the music section.
Thanks and happy playing.

Work begins on MotoGP 2D and C# MIDI app to be released

Hi
I have decided to update my MotoGP 2D game since people will be wondering what happened to it. I have been creating a piece of software through the following the year called "C# MIDI Application", this application allows users to connect a MIDI Musical Synthesiser and learn how to play the instrument, although it is very basic at the moment.
As for MotoGP 2D, i have enclosed a few screenshots from the new version on the main page, i have updated the slot machine feature and next i will begin working on tracks. I will not be updating the graphics much, i will make it look nicer but i am aiming for functionallity at the moment and i'll see how it goes. I have not used GM or done any programming in GML for a very long time, it will take me some time to get used to it again but i'll do my best. I have a few bugs to sort out and then i'll begin more implementation on the software itself, once this is finished i can then work on some features in which i had planned. If you have any suggestions for my game then do not hesitate to contact me.....p.s. no power sliding suggestions please, since when do motorbikes powerslide? lol.
Thanks

MIDI Application Software Release

Hi
I know that i have not updated my website for a long time but i have and still am real busy. I have a lot of work to do for my studies over the next few months so i'll just be updating software as it get's finished. I have recently finished creating a MIDI application within the C# programming language using windows forms. I am currently trying to convert it over to WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) library and incorperate a nice GUI element to it. The WPF version will be capable of much more but the windows forms version is just to demonstrate the theory behind how a computer can handle MIDI data via external devices and what this data means.

The application itself is fairly straight forward to use, you just plug in an external MIDI keyboard, select your device for both input and output and then play away. The messages displayed after input can be a tad confusing but here goes, the first one is for the channel, the second is the note, the third is the note number, the fourth is the velocity (how hard you hit a key), the fifth is the duration between when you pressed to when you released the note, the sixth is the time you pressed a note since the connection was made, the seventh is the time when you released when the connection was made and finally the eigth is the note you pressed, i.e. 4 = crotchet/quarter note.

Ok so that is it explained, you can do various things with the software including opening/save files, set tempo, switch devices, change output tone and change the input channel number.

As for any other software i have not had the time to do it, i will probably be updating this with short posts for a while when new software becomes available, I did however manage to update the slot machine within my MotoGP 2D game, how ever i have not had the time to implement any new updates so you will have to wait until i release a new version of that game for it i am afraid.
Other than this i am learning new programming languages such as using WPF with XAML and Python in my studies, They are worth checking out as you get to see the theory behind other languages and how they handle various functions differently.

Many thanks for downloading my software and for the support/feedback i have received from people and keep it coming. Very much apprechiated.
Mark
